  5. A number of eukaryotic  and  archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped
  6. on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:

  8.  - Mammalian S28 [1].
  9.  - Arabidopsis thaliana S28 [2].
  10.  - Fungi S33 [3].
  11.  
  12. These proteins  have  from  64  to  69  amino acids. As a signature pattern we
  13. selected a   perfectly  conserved decapeptide from the C-terminal extremity of
  14. these proteins.
